Werden

Drewen (2000) Germany
Exhibition: Brandenburgische Kunsttage
Size: 170 cm x 35 cm
Material: Neon, aluminum, iron

The word WERDEN is written in neon and placed on the roof of the bus shelter in Drewen in Brandenburg. Werden is an anagram of Drewen, the name of the village. The local bus stop is used as a hang out by youths.
They have their future hanging literally over their heads. In German 'werden' means become: What will become of them?
